Forget the season of the witch, that was soooooo last year. Here comes the season of the bitch (and, erm, male canines that don’t rhyme with witch, too…). True Blood season five will be packed with werewolves and Alcide actor Joe Manganiello can’t wait to get stuck in, he tells TVLine .
“Oh my god, I can’t f—ing wait,” he enthuses. “The fact that they’re basically busy casting an entire new pack of werewolves is unbelievable. There’s going to be like a werewolf show within the show this this year, so I’m like a kid about it!”
Already-confirmed lycans being added to the cast include former pack leader Marcus’ mother, Annie (played by Dale Dickey); a hot young she-wolf named Rikki; and a hard-bodied fiftysomething named JD who sounds not unlike Alcide’s never-before-seen father, though Manganiello confirming nothing.
“It may not be what you expect,” is all Manganiello will say. “Alcide’s dad is in [Charlaine Harris' fifth novel]. Whether or not he makes an appearance… well, that’s a question for [executive producer] Alan [Ball].”
