Tron is getting its own "visual novel adventure" from Bithell Games
Tron: Identity is set to launch in 2023
Tron: Identity is a new "visual novel adventure" from developer Bithell Games which will expand the Tron universe.
As announced during today's Disney and Marvel Games Showcase, the game is set to launch in 2023, and it can already be wishlisted on Steam. Platforms beyond PC have not yet been announced.
The story will follow Query, a detective program looking for answers in the wake of an "unprecedented crime." You'll make choices about what to do and say over the course of the game, which will ultimately lead to one of a multitude of endings.
Identity will take place a "never-before-seen server," providing an original place to explore in the Tron universe. While the game is largely driven by text and narrative choices, you'll also defrag Identity Discs to uncover memories in a puzzle-solving component.
Developer Bithell Games is perhaps best known for Thomas Was Alone and John Wick Hex, but some of the studio's best-loved work comes from the Circular series. Subsurface Circular and Quarantine Circular are regarded among the finest sci-fi stories indie games have to offer, so there's a strong pedigree here to weave a compelling yarn in the world of Tron.
Today's stream also saw a very brief reveal for Uncharted veteran Amy Hennig's Marvel game, featuring Captain America and Black Panther. We got a new release date for Marvel's Midnight Suns, the promise of Toy Story DLC for Disney Dreamlight Valley, and a new look at mobile MMO Avatar Reckoning.
If you were hoping for details on things like Insomniac's Wolverine or Spider-Man 2, the rumored EA Marvel games, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Ubisoft's Avatar or Star Wars games, or the Indiana Jones title from MachineGames, well... Better luck next time.
