Transformers: The Game interview
Executive Producer Daniel Suarez from Activision tells us about this movie-inspired action game
GR: You also, we understand, added drones so there’d be enough bad guys in the game.
DS: Since there are only thirteen Transformers in the film, we couldn’t really kill anyone off. So we brought in some other characters, like Shockwave, but we also built ten types of drones, including a compact car, a fork lift, and a Brinks truck. And now Hasbro are actually making four of them into toys.
GR: How did the filmmakers react to it?
DS: Oh, they totally understood because they’re all gamers. Michael Bay is a big Call Of Duty guy. In fact, when we showed the game to [Executive Producer] Steven Spielberg, he looked at the Brinks truck and said, “We should’ve done that in the movie.
