The '80's continue to exert bizarre influence on the popular culture of the mid-2000s. Actually, the song featured in this trailer, Particle Man, was released on the 1990 They Might Be Giant's album Flood. Still, the influence of '80's music videos and bands like Devo are readily apparent in the costuming of the “shape people” who dance about the couch in this day-glo circus. It’s like you accidentally walked into the wrong party and someone put acid in your soda and the whirling colors have faces and are talking to you and your ride left without you and your trapped there with the grinning idiotic faces and you can never leave and you feel the ground starting to rickroll under your feet and you think you might throw up. Bonus points for freak factor, plus it’s better than watching someone play Geometry Wars for three minutes.
