Tour The Witcher 3: Blood & Wine's new region and try not to get disemboweled

The Witcher 3 has some beautiful places to kill monsters and play Gwent, but nothing like the verdant duchy of Toussaint. If it weren't for the grisly slayings and mysterious monsters plaguing its opulent cities and rustic vineyards, it would almost be perfect. But then Geralt of Rivia wouldn't have much reason to visit.

CD Projekt Red is really pushing this "troubled paradise" angle for The Witcher 3's upcoming Blood & Wine expansion, and the latest trailer even dips a bit into horror territory. It's always fun when expansions let well-established games try out not just massive new areas (Toussaint is about the size of Novigrad in the base game) but also different genres. Intriguing story aside, it would probably be worth the price of admission just to roam those beautiful hills and customize your own vineyard.

The Witcher 3: Blood & Wine will be released on May 31. It will be Geralt's final mission, and CD Projekt Red has no more new content planned for the game. At least it should be one helluva nice place to retire after Geralt gets done cleaning it up.
