Top Titles Unveiled For Weekender Gaming Zone

Play two of 2011's most anticipated games long before they hit the high street

What with the Weekender being the ultimate sci-fi fest and all, we’ve teamed up with games publisher THQ to nab two of the year’s most anticipated titles for our Gaming Zone, where you’ll be able to take them for a test drive long before they arrive in the high street.

First up is Homefront , which is set in the America of 2027 and puts you in the shoes of a resistance fighter who is more than a little teed off that the good ol’ US of A has been over run by Greater Korea (a united nation dominated by those naughty North Koreans). It’s your job to use all your cunning to displace the new regime, using guerrilla tactics, drone technology and of course enormous guns.

We’ve also got Red Faction: Armageddon on show, which fans of the series will no doubt be pretty pleased about. Due for release in May, it’s the fourth instalment in the marvellous Red Faction series. It casts you as Darius Mason, defending the Martian colonists from a new alien threat using imaginative weaponry such as the signature magnet gun.

Not bad ey? If you’ve had your head in a wormhole for the last couple of weeks and haven’t yet snapped up tickets for this year’s SFX Weekender 2, there’s still time! Book now by calling 08700 11 00 34, or head to www.sfxweekender.com/tickets for more information.

The SFX Weekender 2 takes place at Camber Sands holiday camp in East Sussex on Friday 4th February and Saturday 5th February 2011, with our Pre Party on Thursday 3rd February for the early birds. For more information, head over to www.sfxweekender.com .
