Tom Cruise taking on El Presidente?
Could re-team with Jack Nicholson
Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson blistered the screen during their ever-quotable scenes in A Few Good Men . Now, the duo could be set to reunite almost 20 years later for El Presidente .
Though no deals have been brokered yet, the pair have been approached for the action drama, which has been scripted by Daily Show and Late Night With Conan O’Brien writer Dan Goor.
The plot, according to The Wrap , follows an “overly-committed Secret Service agent who is assigned to guard the country’s worst former president, a bumbling sleaze. It’s a mundane and boring job - until there’s a threat made on the ex-president’s life, forcing the duo to go on the run together.”
Three guesses who will play the sleazy president....
Though Cruise has had a bad run of luck on-screen of late – his Knight And Day failing to set the box office alight – this could be just the kind of project to kick him into gear.
Going on the strength of his work with Nicholson back in 1992, El Presidente would be a very sound investment indeed.
