TOCA 2 on PSP: 12-player WiFi confirmed

Codemasters has confirmed that TOCA Race Driver 2 will support an incredible 12 players in wireless multiplayer racing and that it will be ready for the PSP's UK launch on 1 September along with auto stablemate, Colin McRae Rally 2005.

Despite appearing on the pocket-sized console, TOCA Race Driver 2 will pack in 52 circuits spread across 30 championships and feature 22 competitors in each race.

If that wasn't enough, 12 WiFi linked racers will be able to drive almost any vehicle, from delicate Formula Ford open wheelers and heavyweight stockcars to trucks and ice-racers.

Colin McRae Rally 2005 Plus will also offer wireless driving with eight players competing simultaneously and gloating and glorying in the shame and triumph of shared replays.

The solo mode will contain 30 rally cars, 9 national events and 2WD, 4WD, Classics, Super 2-wheel, Distinctive and RWD car classes.

TOCA Race Driver 2 and Colin McRae Rally 2005 Plus will be released for PSP on 1 September
