Toby Kebbell will play Doctor Doom in The Fantastic Four
Fox casts its villain
The Fantastic Four looks to have cast itself a big bad, with Variety reporting that Toby Kebbell will play Victor von Doom, AKA Doctor Doom, in the forthcoming reboot.
According to the report, Kebbell was the studio’s first pick from a shortlist that also included the likes of Jack Huston and Domhnall Gleeson.
As the villainous Doom, Kebbell will be going up against the titular super-team of Jamie Bell, Kate Mara, Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan, in what is looking like a pleasingly youthful ensemble.
Plot details remain fairly sketchy at this stage, although it has been suggested that the story will draw from the Ultimate Fantastic Four run, in which the group were redrawn as a team of younger characters.
Directed by Chronicle helmer Josh Trank, The Fantastic Four will open in the UK on 18 June 2015.
