Titanfall's season pass is free on Xbox 360 and Xbox One
"Titanfall just didn't have enough stuff" has become one of the great gaming cliches of recent years, right up there alongside "Troy Baker is in our game" and "I have a problem with women" - like most cliches, they have a basis in truth, but miss the point a little.
Troy Baker is one of the few voice actors not to make people violently retch on sight, so he's just an efficient choice. You might not like women but, crucially, no one likes you. And Titanfall's been getting new content for months - some of it's just been locked behind a season pass.
But it is locked no more! Today, the Titanfall season pass became totally free on Xbox One and Xbox 360, netting you the Expedition, Frontier's Edge and IMC Rising packs in one fell swoop. That means nine new maps to play with - not to manage the ream of improvements that have been made for free since launch, from the Black Market to that cool Titan OS voice that makes it sound like you have a robot butler.
No reason's yet been given for the discount, but if it isn't to do with Titanfall's first anniversary yesterday, I'll eat my bionic hat. Would it be too much to ask for a tiny peek at a sequel now? I only ask because there was just a little too little stuff in Titanfall, am I right?
