TimeSplitters 3: First details and shots revealed
Team up with past and future versions of yourself in confusing messing-with-history stylee
EA have today announced details of the third game in ace first-person shooter series TimeSplitters.
TimeSplitters Future Perfect will, funnily enough, again be based around time travel and, along with an "improved" story mode, will feature a cooperative mode and online play. Currently in development by Free Radical for PS2, Xbox and Gamecube, the title is scheduled for an early 2005 release.
This time round Cortez - the hero from previous instalments - finds himself in a desperate race to trace the origin of the TimeSplitters and save mankind. As you do. The missions themselves are set between 1914 and 2401 and are replete with novel 'meet yourself' gameplay mechanics that allow you to be your own ally by teaming up with past and future versions of yourself. Just so long as you don't end up teaming up with your first-thing-Monday-morning incarnation, you should be OK.
TimeSplitters Future Perfect will be released early next year for PS2, Xbox and Cube
