Tim Schafer's Brutal Legend exposed
Psychonauts dev's new game revealed: "A Rock 'n Roll roadshow through the twisted mind of Tim Schafer"
Oct 12, 2007
The next game from Psychonauts creator Tim Schafer and studio Double Fine has finally been revealed as Brutal Legend on the cover of Game Informer magazine. Schafer is the oft-acclaimed force behind such beloved adventure titles as Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, and Psychonauts. You can learn a little more about him in ourGame Auteurs feature.
Described as "A Rock 'n Roll roadshow through the twisted mind of Tim Schafer," that's pretty much all we've got to go on for the cartoon-ish rock outing.
According to the GI cover, Jack Black stars as "Roadie Eddie Riggs," so Schafer had better hope this game actually sells some copies, so he can cover Black's immense pay check (and, presumably, KFC bill).
The cover image reveals who we're assuming is the main character (presumably voiced by Black), a long-haired, axe-wielding rocker.
Until more details surface, this is all we can say(we don't even know what platform it's for), but we can't wait to see what the guys behind Psychonauts can do with a cast of hard-partying rock nuts. It's going to be sweet.
