Tim Schafer and Cookie Monster talk zombies in clever Once Upon a Monster trailer
Zombies are so 2007, says Cookie Monster
Though we still have fun with them, you must admit that around 2009 or so zombies became pretty inescapable in gaming. Nazi zombies, island zombies, dancing zombies, space zombies; the brain eaters are everywhere. Many have expressed zombie fatigue, though we hardly expected to see it coming from the Muppet maw of Cookie Monster. But that’s just what happens between CM and Tim Schafer in this funny new video for Double Fine’s Once Upon a Monster.
This cute video probably won’t sell any children on the game, but us industry nerds love seeing the iconic Cookie Monster hanging out with gaming genius/human Muppet Tim Schafer. And if they can make a subversive point about the generic state of games today while selling you on their family friendly Kinect title, all the better. If only every kiddy game had this kind of marketing.
