The X-Men universe has another Stark: Maisie Williams will play a shape-shifting wolf in New Mutants
Where one Stark goes, another must follow. Fresh off the news that Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) will be starring in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) will be donning the mutant garb in spinoff New Mutants – and her role has a Game of Thrones flavour to it…
The Hollywood Reporter have revealed the first batch of casting news for New Mutants, with Maisie Williams being joined by Split’s Anya Taylor-Joy.
New Mutants is essentially a group of teenage mutants teaming up whilst also dealing with whatever adolescence throws at them. Expect lots of angst and awesome abilities.
As for character deets, Maisie Williams will be playing Wolfsbane, a religious character who is struggling to come to terms with the fact she can turn into a wolf. Squint and it's basically Arya as a dire wolf. Could she even cross paths with her on-screen Thrones sister Jean Grey down the road?
Anya Taylor-Joy’s character is partially linked to Deadpool, as she plays sorceress Magik who is, interestingly, the sister of Colossus, who deadpanned his way through the Merc with a Mouth’s first cinematic outing.
We’re totally getting a Deadpool/New Mutants crossover at some point.
New Mutants is slated to hit theaters on April 13, 2018.

I'm the Senior Entertainment Writer here at 12DOVE, focusing on news, features, and interviews with some of the biggest names in film and TV. On-site, you'll find me marveling at Marvel and providing analysis and room temperature takes on the newest films, Star Wars and, of course, anime. Outside of GR, I love getting lost in a good 100-hour JRPG, Warzone, and kicking back on the (virtual) field with Football Manager. My work has also been featured in OPM, FourFourTwo, and Game Revolution.
Superman’s super dog Krypto may look all innocent in the trailer, but James Gunn says he is a "terrible dog" and is based on his own mischievous mutt
Spider-Man 4 may include a Marvel heroine although Sony cannot confirm it will be Anya Taylor-Joy as Black Cat, says boss: "There’s a lot of fantastic female characters, but I can't talk about all this"
