“The Writer” DLC for Alan Wake coming October 12

We’ve already told you why the first Alan Wake DLC, “The Signal,”set a dangerous precedent. But if there’s anything our new favorite tortured author is used to, it’s danger.

“The Writer” DLC promises to conclude the events from “The Signal”. Never mind that the first downloadable episode promised to do the same with the original game. Well, whatever the case, we’re expecting the same trippy goodness that kept us entertained in the first.

What has changed, however, is that rather than attempting to understand the dark reality enthralling him, Alan must fight back against it. Guided by Thomas Zane, the mysterious diver, Wake struggles to regain his sanity or risk losing himself to the dark forever. Check out the trailer:

We're told that the world of “The Writer” will be “more imaginative and surprising than ever, featuring impressive and atmospheric environments that illustrate precisely how far from his comfort zone Wake has been taken, and how dangerous the threat that haunts him truly is.”

The DLC will be available October 12th on Xbox LIVE for 560 MS points. What do you think - worth the buy?
