The Wizard Of ER What?
Oz gets a medical makeover. See what we did there? ER… as in Emergency Room? Oh never mind
We’d love to have been a fly-on-the-wall in the office when this one was pitched to the studio suits. “Y’see, it’s like ER meets The Wizard Of Oz !” You’d expect the suits to shout, “NEXT!” at that point, but no. Somehow this has made it to development stage. Had somebody been on the wacky baccy?
According to TVLine , CBS is developing Dorothy , a medical drama that will lift characters and themes from L Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz .
Emily Fox ( Ghost Whisperer ) will write the pilot script and serve as an executive producer alongside Elementary ‘s Carl Beverly and Susan Timberman.
Syfy also announced it was developing a new spin on Oz recently in the form of Warriors Of Oz , which is under the guidance of Timur Bekmambetov (see here ), while everybody is also expecting there may be a trip to Oz in Once Upon A Time at some point (there’s a picture of flying monkey’s in Henry’s book in the pilot).
