The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings conjurs up new release date and collector's edition

PC warlock wannabes will have wait a little longer to get their gnarled hands on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings; which may be a good thing seeing as they'll also need a little more time to clear some shelf space for everything the special edition has to offer.

In a press release today, Developer CD Projekt announced that Witcher 2 will be moved back to May 17, 2011 in order to make sure the action-RPG is in tip-top shape for the gaming public.

“Of course, we know that players would like to get the game as soon as possible, so we hope that they will forgive us!”urged Project lead Adam Badowski, adding, "We strongly believe that the extra time spent polishing the title will be well worth the wait."

Speaking of 'well worth the wait', GameStop has released details of Witcher 2's jam-packed collector's edition which may require an extra bookcase to display properly. Highlights of the package include a Geralt sculture, cursed coin and pamphlet, papercraft figures and the Vernon Roche Commando Jacket for in-game use. Other, more standard-fare items include a 'making-of' DVD, soundtrack, art book, stickers and a set of dice.

The special collector's edition is currently listing for steep $130. But hey, now you have extra time tosave money.
