“Marriage is the chief cause of divorce,” muses a wedding guest in this cynical Polish comedy. Knocked-up bride Katia (Tamara Arciuch)’s stingy, duplicitous olds try to restore order amid a sea of vodka-sodden lechery and vomiting. The food’s off; the unpaid band refuses to play; Katia’s constipated grandpa carks it on the john; and Katia’s ex arrives to film it all and re-build bridges. The premise is unoriginal, the grainy vid-footage excerpts gimmicky. True, there’s the odd killer line, but it’s not enough to save director Wojciech Smarzowski’s view of a debauched, cash-hungry, post-Soviet Poland from feeling just a tad too sour.
