The Walking Dead season 7, episode 9 preview urges everyone to rise up against Negan
After shambling along for seven episodes, The Walking Dead season 7 finally kicked into gear with its mid-season finale and showed, just like Spencer, it has real guts. There were character deaths and shock moments aplenty – but now we have to wait until February for another dose of undead mayhem.
But fear not, AMC has released a trailer for Episode 9, teasingly titled ‘Rise Up’ *and* a clip from the episode. Aren’t we lucky?
The trailer focuses on Rick meeting with Ezekiel, leader of the Kingdom, but also includes quick shots of a determined Michonne, lots of guns (including the return of Rick’s trusty revolver) and… no Negan. Boo.
Rick and Daryl are back to their ass-kicking selves (it’s about time!) and the last seconds of the trailer include the most messed-up looking zombie I’ve ever seen… or is it? Could we be getting our first glimpse of The Whisperers? For those who prefer their Walking Dead on screen and not on page, The Whisperers are a cult-like group who dress themselves up as zombies because they’re, y’know, smart.
The clip shows Rick and the gang at the Hilltop with Jesus revealing he’s got his hands on a long-distance radio so they can listen in on the Saviors. How convenient.
Speaking of convenient, Jesus is apparently pals with King Ezekiel so Jesus is ready to whisk them off to meet him at The Kingdom.
Check out the trailer above to help tide you over until the next wave of The Walking Dead season 7 episodes hits AMC in February 2017.
