The Top 7 Edible Enemies in Video Games

Fifth Course:Watermelon monster
Stinger for NES

When you fire up an old-school shoot 'em up, it's smart to check your sense of reality at the door. When you fire up NES "classic" Stinger, you're forced to question what kind of circumstances have to unfold to create such a messed up world. Enemies range from green pumpkins to cookies to squares of tofu, all topped off by a seed-spitting watermelon boss.

And that's just in the first level. From here you'll battle a kitchen sink and something that slightly resembles an onion, all while gathering power-ups that may or may not actually affect your ship's performance. In the days when so few games made any sense at all, Stinger stood triumphantly over them all, glowering down in all its nonsensical glory. It then did a backflip, morphed into a purple pelican and blasted away in a rainbow of stars and dog bones as a BASIC text message displayed "CONGRATURATION."

So when can we download this on the Virtual Console?
