The news from Narnia
Complications delay Caspian, producers plan for two more flicks...
The highly anticipated second chapter in The Chronicles Of Narnia has hit a script-shaped speed bump. Prince Caspian is the only other book in the series to include the full pack of Pevensie kids and, it seems, it’s a right bugger to adapt.
Producer Mark Johnson told Entertainment Weekly that scribbling the tale is “proving tougher than Wardrobe.”
The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe scooped up over $739 million at the box office over Christmas and New Year, setting the bar high for chapter two.
Executive producer Cary Granat is now tinkering with the idea of putting the flick’s release back a year from its original December 2007 date.
Producers Walden Media are set to use Caspian to kick off a trilogy of tales, following it up with Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, which sees Edmund and Lucy scouring Narnia for the seven banished Lords. The last in the trio will be The Silver Chair in which the ageing King Caspian calls upon two new kids to save his son, Prince Rilian, from the evil Emerald Witch.
