The John Wick TV show gets a title, prequel status, and a possible Keanu Reeves cameo

A John Wick TV show sounds like a no-brainer, right? Heck, we all want to find out a bit more about Keanu Reeves’ assassin (pre-dog slaying, of course) and the shadowy world that surrounds him. Like a shot in the dark, there’s been a sudden influx of deets about the TV show, including its title, and whether Keanu Reeves will show up.

Say hello to The Continental. IndieWire are reporting that’s what the John Wick TV show will be titled – and it’ll focus on the host of hitman hotels spanning the globe, according to John Wick: Chapter 2 director Chad Stahelski.

Stahelski, the man behind the John Wick franchise, has opened up about the concept of the show, “It’s very tied to the film [in that] it’s about the Continentals all over the world, how certain people come into that world, and what happens in relation to those people, which is cool. I think the world is very vast, and everything I’ve heard from it is very positive.”

It's definitely going to be a prequel set before the mayhem of the first John Wick, but what is less certain is whether John Wick himself – Keanu Reeves – will make an appearance. Stahelski, though, is hopeful: “I think he would make an appearance, I think that’s part of his thing, [But the series] isn’t centered around John Wick.”

Translating a balls-to-the-wall action flick to TV is notoriously hard, but The Continental could probably pull it off. Just avoid more pet murder, yeah?
