The Greatest Powerless Superheroes in HD
With 1080p comes great responsibility
Hero: V
From: V for Vendetta, 2006
Hasn't got a Superpower but: He's eloquent, and resistant to pathogens?
So what can he do?
The dude doesn't even use guns! Foot-long daggers of truth are V's weapon of choice, and pharmaceutical testing would appear to have given him an extremely high threshold for pain as well. Ideas may be bulletproof, sadly, he isn't. But after hijacking the airwaves and delivering an impassioned speech, V instills enough hope and confidence in the complacent England populace to stand up to their totalitarian government. We guess you could call his primary power the gift of gab.
Origins:
Thing is, even V can't recall his life before involuntary guinea pig status at the Larkhill Center. But he is well aware that the experiments forced upon him and his fellow "social deviants" resulted in a deadly virus that ravages the population at the behest of a corrupt body of politicians.
His explosive escape leaves him with a charred body like a beef tongue, but at least he's got the finely honed physical and mental abilities of an extremely chivalrous Jedi to fall back on.
The Disc:
Great picture and sound, as you'd expect. V for Vendetta also contains the "In-Movie Experience" for those to like to infuse their movies with behind-the-scenes gobbledygook. And unlike the two-disc standard release, they didn't bother to hide Natalie Portman's potty-mouthed rap song.
Trivia:
Remember, remember... this film was supposed to be released on the 5th of November. But the London subway bombings pushed the movie into the next year.
