The Flash To Be Introduced Into Arrow
Could lead to a possible spin-off
The CW has announced that superfast DC superhero The Flash is set to be introduced into TV series Arrow , with an eye to spinning him off into his own series if the character proves successful.
The character is set to first appear this autumn and again in 2014. ”If you don’t feel the chemistry, it doesn’t happen,” Pedowitz said, referring to the possibility of a spin-off.
The CW seems keen on using episodes of existing shows as backdoor pilots; it has already used this technique with The Vampires Diaries / The Originals and is attempting something similar with Supernatural and its spin-off next year.
Quite where this leaves Arrow’s “no superpowers” policy is anybody’s guess. It’s difficult to imagine The Flash as just some bloke who can run a bit fast. Will we be seeing Arrow ’s first true superhero?
