This cute little monkey doesn’t seem to care that its butt is on fire, so who’re we to judge? Chimchar has the highest base Attack stat of the three starters, but its moveset takes a little while to become useful. While normally Ember, the game’s weakest Fire attack, is nothing to be excited about, Sinnoh’s northern climes attract few Fire-type Pokémon, making Chimchar a rare and useful Pokémon throughout the game.
Evolves to Monferno at Level 14.
