Impressively understated in last year’s Mademoiselle Chambon, the willowy Sandrine Kiberlain excels again in this delicate French drama.
Bereaved and living alone in Bordeaux, fortysomething Anne (Kiberlain) barely communicates with her fellow kitchen workers, though a post-cinema encounter suggest a yearning for emotional connection.
Taking its title from the pigeon that nestles behind the wall of Anne’s apartment, this thoughtful film is modest in scope, but remains quietly moving in its portrayal of both nature and the transience of human feelings.
