The best skateboard game ever made?
Why Tony should be terrified of Skate's bag of tricks
The city reacts to your actions
Skate's 'story' is about you, a fresh-faced unknown skater, becoming a big name. But how you become a famous face isn't pre-determined. There's two opposite methods to your development, but you can mix the whole range of activities as you improve your local standing
For example, you can enter illegal downhill races and skate in banned spots, or enter competitions and impress local pros to earn your stripes. Or, you could just enter competitions and skate as many off-limits areas as possible.
While you go about your own destiny, the people and traffic will react to you. Jay Balmer, gameplay producer on Skate, gave his own personal anecdote, where skate-hating taxis will swerve to intimidate you.
Bag yourself enough trophies and you'll get recognised, perhaps gathering gangs of heavily-eyeshadowed groupies when hitting a local skating spot - or you might just make everyone else jealous with your silky skills. Fame or infamy, it's up to you.
