Aiming somewhere between Source Code and Bourne , Noel Clarke’s first solo directorial effort since Adulthood centres on an ex-soldier (Clarke) who finds himself occasionally regaining consciousness for nine minutes, 37 seconds in a body no longer his own. It’s a nifty idea – especially in terms of structure – but that’s about it, with Clarke’s direction proving as flat as his performance.

Brian Cox, playing a shifty doc, brings credibility, but even he can’t sell a sci-fi built on cliché (kidnapped kid! dodgy foreign scientist! sex worker in distress!) and slo-mo fight scenes straight out of a primary school playground.
