Like so many sci-fi horror stories, Parasite Eve should be a happy tale about our cellular mitochondria revealing themselves to be one giant hive-mind and teaming up to create the ultimate life form. But it all goes wrong when A) the mitochondria decide things would be better without all those “people” tramping around, and B) that life form tears its way out of the womb looking like the image above.
But not to worry – it eventually evolves into a floating, aquatic-looking turquoise humanoid with a head shaped like a penis. Which is, ironically, much less scary.
