TGS 2011: Zelda: Skyward Sword has Shadow of the Colossus scale boss, leaf-blowers, MINECARTS!
MINECARTS!
Much like war, Zelda never changes. That's the age-old criticism, and it's usually completely justified. Fire Temple, Water Temple, Hook Shot, repetition, coma. That's the way it's been for the last few years (though I still say that Twilight Princess, tonally and narratively at least, was one of the freshest and most exciting Zeldas of the lot).
Well it looks like things might actually change with the Wii's upcoming Skyward Sword. As this new footage from TGS shows, a whole bunch of the traditional Zelda building blocks are there, but there also seems to be a new shot of creativity flowing through Link's notoriously traditionalist veins this time around. Namely by way of a frickin' huge, climbable boss and a (possibly) weaponised gardening implement. Also, minecarts!
Cheers, Nintendo Everything
