Terry Jones set to do Absolutely Nothing
Could consist of belated Monty Python reunion
Monty Python favourite Terry Jones is returning to the director’s chair for his first full length feature film in almost 14 years.
Jones is planning to team up with fellow funny Brit boy John Oliver (who is currently filming The Smurfs ) for Absolutely Nothing .
Co-written by Jones and Gavin Scott ( The Borrowers, Small Soldiers ), Deadline report that Absolutely Nothing will include “aliens, a goofy Brit, a talking dog and buckets of silliness”. Which should come as no surprise to anybody who’s seen even just five minutes of Monty Python .
Jones also has his eye on Robin Williams, who is being courted to play the voice of the talking dog Dennis, while Pythonites Cleese, Palin, Idle and Gilliam have all received phone calls inviting them to voice ETs.
For those still hopeful of a Python re-team, this looks like the closest thing we'll get to it. Look out for signs of their reunion in spring 2011, when Jones is hoping to put this in front of cameras .
