This year sees the return of the Terror Season, a season of horror and Grand Guignol theatre from acclaimed experimental theatre company The Sticking Place.
In this, its fourth year, the festival is set to include Noel Coward’s The Better Half (written for London's Grand Guignol in 1922 and never seen or published until now); classic French shocker Kiss Of Death in a new version by Tristan Langlois; and commissions from some of Britain’s most exciting contemporary playwrights including Mark Ravenhill ( Shopping and F***ing ; Mother Clapp’s Molly House ), Lucy Kirkwood and Darren Ormandy.
The season also includes a three-day series of Halloween specials, featuring legendary theatre maverick Ken Campbell (creator of the Science Fiction Theatre of Liverpool and Illuminatus for the Royal National Theatre) and his improvisation troupe, The School Of Night (fresh from their recent successes at The Royal Court and Shakespeare’s Globe).
