Final Fantasy creator's Terra Battle is coming to consoles
The latest game from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi started off as a mobile exclusive, but it's not staying that way. After surpassing 2 million downloads for Terra Battle since its launch in October, developer Mistwalker has confirmed it will start work a console version of the game.
If you haven't tried Terra Battle, it takes a unique approach to tactical RPG combat; rather than standard turn-based battles in which each unit can move and act individually, players may only move one unit per turn. However, that one unit can bump allies around the battlefield as it moves, trying to line everyone up in the proper formations to trigger powerful attacks.
You're free to jostle your characters around as much as you like for a brief window of time, making every campaign battle equal parts strategic optimization and frenetic finger swiping. Touch controls are pretty key to Terra Battle, so it's not clear if or how the combat system of the console version - which was tentatively called Terra Battle World back when the project was first announced - will differ.
Mistwalker's also celebrating the 2 million download milestone by giving Terra Battle players extra free energy daily from April 30 to May 4, so now's a good time to try out the mobile version if you're interested.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
