Taken 2 has released a new trailer online, and it’s rammed with as much action and just as many gruff one-liners as you’d expect.
Directed by the suitably-named Olivier Megaton, the sequel sees Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) and his wife kidnapped by the father of a man Mills killed in the first Taken .
“Listen to me carefully Kim,” Mills whispers at one point. “Your mother is going to be taken. People are going to come for you too…”

“We wanted to surprise you,” laughs Maggie Grace. “Well, you succeeded,” replies Neeson in an exchange that could easily be read as a sly nod to the first film’s completely unexpected success.
In this first US trailer, Taken 2 looks every bit as punchy as its predecessor, while Istanbul offers a bustling backdrop for all the action.
With Skyfall also out this year, we’ll have to wait and see if there’s room for both Bond and Bryan Mills in the hearts of action lovers…
Taken 2 opens in cinemas on 4 October 2012.
