Sylvester Stallone has an "important" role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Back in March a rumour surfaced that Sylvester Stallone had snagged a role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. At the time I thought it was improbable, but James Gunn confirmed the news over the weekend at San Diego Comic Con. While we still don't know who Stallone is playing, the director revealed that his role is crucial:
"It's a very, very key, important role", Gunn told Cinema Blend. "It's not a huge role. He's a great and key supporting actor".
Stallone was briefly seen in the sizzle reel footage exclusive to Comic Con attendees only, but it didn't give away much information about his character. As the focus of the movie will be on the Guardians themselves Gunn can afford to play this one close to the vest, and hopefully Stallone's involvement will be kept as a nice surprise for moviegoers.
For now, we can bask in the knowledge that we're getting a comic book movie starring both Tango and Cash. I'll high-five to that...
Directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Kurt Russell, Sylvester Stallone, Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit UK cinemas on April 28, 2017 and open in US theatres on May 5, 2017.
