Rawhide meets One Man And His Dog in this contemplative documentary depicting the travails of a family of sheepherders driving their vast, woolly sea of livestock over the scrubland and mountains of Montana.

Unadorned by narrative or score, it’s an unsentimental portrayal of a fading way of life and the peaceful creatures under its charge.

Some may find its unflinching depiction of agricultural practices eye-opening.

With its slow tracking shots, complete disregard for edited narrative and endless baaing and whistling, it’ll either bore you to tears or hypnotise you with its weird Herzogian beauty.
