Summit Entertainment finds a Sensei
A comic tale of two karate warriors…
Ever wondered what The Karate Kid would be like if it were played as a spoof? All right, so there have been plenty of comedy digs at the film over the years, but now Summit Entertainment think it has something that would work.
Sensei, a spec script written by newcomer David Caspe follows two former teen karate champs whose adult lives have taken very different paths. One is a drunken, loser sensei at a dodgy dojo, while the other has become an infomercial star who has made a small fortune from karate Pilates and has just opened one of his workout franchises across the road… Now the successful fighter wants a rematch of the infamous 1984 match (yes, the same year as The Karate Kid) that was their last battle.
