Suicide Squad adds Jay Hernandez in mystery role
Suicide Squad has added another name to its burgeoning cast list, with The Wrap reporting that Friday Night Lights star Jay Hernandez has signed on to join the project.
According to the report, the identity of Hernandez's character has yet to be confirmed, but it has been suggested that he may lay a prison inmate of the Joker.
The new film will follow the exploits of the titular band of supervillains, who are offered the chance to wipe their criminal slates clean in exchange for carrying out government missions.
Hernandez joins a hugely starry cast that includes Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Jared Leto, as well as new addition Joel Kinnaman.
Directed by David Ayer and co-starring Viola Davis and Cara Delavingne, Suicide Squad will open in the UK and US on 5 August 2016.
