Suda51 announces new game: Killer is Dead. Expect swordplay, assassinations and 'Bond Babes'
Killer 7-esque game to be released 2013
Grasshopper Manufacture, developer of Suda51-directed surrealist oddities Killer7 and No More Heroes, has announced a new game by the name of 'Killer is Dead'.
Set to follow the studio's forthcoming rainbow-cheerleader-zombie hack and slash Lollipop Chainsaw, ‘Killer is Dead’ will be released for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013.
With industry legend Goichi "Suda51" Suda as lead director, 'Killer is Dead' is not a direct sequel to Killer7, but will share some similarities. Playing as a character with the job title 'Executioner', it's your job to travel the world, putting an end to 'S-level criminals'. The game is reported to feature No More Heroes-style swordplay with new additions.
While there probably won’t be any scantily clad cheerleaders in ‘Killer is Dead’, it has been reported the game will feel like a twisted James Bond movie, with numerous Bond-girl like babes, which is the next best thing.
Above: Not actual Bond babes, of course. Probably more like 'femme fatales'
With an already strong list of upcoming games including the aforementioned Lollipop Chainsaw, Diabolical Pitch for Kinect and side-scroller Black Knight Sword on XBLA, Grasshopper’s release schedule is looking pleasantly busy. In addition to this, Suda51 has already expressed a desire to make No More Heroes 3 for the Wii U.
We’re excited to see what weirdness Suda51 can produce with PS3 and Xbox 360 as the lead platforms, but we’re sure liquid physics will be put to good use through copious amount of blood.
