Street Fighter 5 getting six new characters within the first year of launch
Street Fighter 5's release date may have been leaked a few hours before Sony's conference at the start of Paris Games Week, but that doesn't mean that there aren't a few surprises. Like this doozy: Street Fighter 5 will receive six additional characters in the year following its release.
Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono took the stage to announce that Street Fighter 5 will continue to see free updates for at least a year after launch, including six new fighters to the roster. Who those characters will be are currently a mystery, but you'll be able to unlock them by spending 'fight money' - the in-game currency earned through playing matches or buying with real-world dollars.
Ono also announced the return of Dhalsim, as well as a release date of February 16, 2016.
