Still more awesomeness coming to Marvel vs Capcom 3: Spider-Man and Wesker confirmed
Say hi to your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and your douchey neighborhood super-soldier
Capcom’s keeping the hype train rolling steadily by revealing the cast lineup for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 bit by bit. While Tron and X-23 were shown not too long ago during the press-only days at Tokyo Game Show, Capcom unveiled two more roster additions on the two days the show was open to the Japanese gaming public. One of the additions is completely expected, the other is a bit surprising. Gamespot took videos of the character reveals, and they both look to be great additions to an already awesome-packed cast.
First off is Spider-Man, who looks to play very similarly to his incarnations in previous Versus series installments. Seeing as how Spidey is generally regarded as the “face” of Marvel Comics, his inclusion in the game isn’t much of a surprise, but it’s nice to see it confirmed anyway.
Meanwhile, in a somewhat more surprising addition, everybody’s favorite double-crossing, genetics-manipulating, shades-and-trenchcoat-wearing super-human, Albert Wesker from Resident Evil, is now on the roster. If the footage show above is anything to go by, he’s going to have some very cool supers, including a counter-attack that can be used to retaliate against other characters’ super skills. Another interesting note: he’s also the only character currently on the Capcom side that is the exact antithesis of “heroic.”
As cool as these confirmations are, every new nugget of information Capcom feeds us for this game just leaves us craving for more. We’re sure that we’ll be seeing several more reveals in the next few months, but until the next get of characters is shown, we’re still stuck here salivating like Pavlov’s dogs.
