Steven Spielberg's BFG adaptation will arrive in 2016
While his Cold War project nabs a 2015 release date
Steven Spielberg's next two projects have been officially locked in, with his untitled Cold War film and an adaptation of The BFG set to keep him occupied for the foreseeable future.
The former project will be first on the agenda, and will tell the true story of attorney James Donovan, who is sent to negotiate the release of a captured pilot during the Cold War.
The Tom Hanks-starring project remains title-less, but does now have an official release date, with the film set to open in US cinemas on 16 October 2015.
After completing work on that one, Spielberg will then move almost immediately on to his take on Roald Dahl's The BFG , with the film now pencilled in for 1 July 2016.
No casting has taken place for that film as yet, although E.T. screenwriter Melissa Mathison is currently penning a script, with Frank Marshall on production duties. Gleeful childhood nostalgia, ahoy...
