The Star Wars Jedi Survivor green barriers made of laser-like light can't be passed when you first encounter them, and in accordance with the game's status as a kind of Metroidvania, you'll need to come back later with a new item or ability. It's worth doing too - there's plenty of new items, challenges and content behind those walls, which turn out to be checkpoint barriers set up by the Empire to control movement. If you want the ability to get through these green barriers in Star Wars Jedi Survivor, I've explained it all below.

The upgrade that lets you get past the green barriers in Star Wars Jedi Survivor is actually a magic charm. Instead of a tech solution the answer is a witchy talismen from Merrin that is never explained and just lets you use your dash move to pass through the green laser gates for... reasons.

You'll get the charm during the Jedha objective to "locate Brother Armias" which follows on from both the missions involved in the Star Wars Jedi Survivor Shattered Moon or Kobo choice. Once those two objectives are done you'll end up on a mission with Merrin on Jedha, this is when she'll give you 'Merrin's magicked charm' at a crucial point.

This charm will then let you dash through the Jedi Survivor green barriers - just approach one and press B/Circle to use your dash move and pass through to the other side. You do do this both on the ground and in the air so expect some acrobatics to reach some doors. The dash is another one of the core Star Wars Jedi Survivor abilities, Force powers and gear options you'll unlock eventually if you haven't got that yet.

Most importantly, dashing through laser gates will reset your double jump and in-air dash move, letting you string together long acrobatic sequences of moves in certain Star Wars Jedi Survivor situations.

Even more importantly, once you have that charm, all those laser gates you've been seeing will be yours to pass through. With this new ability you'll be able to explore a ton of new areas and find all sorts of new resources and other things.
