Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron
Hands-on: Happily blasting our way through a roomful of jaded game journalists
The Credit system allows you to decide exactly what weapons you carry, skill you perform and attributes you imbue, in whatever combination you see fit. Don't need a secondary weapon, but want more health or faster base capturing presence? No problem. Use as many as you want, however you want, as long as you don't go over your 100 point credit limit.
For example, equipping a stealth camouflage powerup works great for sniping, and we loved activating Rage, an attribute that temporarily granted us increased strength, great for irresponsibly running headlong into situations where we were vastly outnumbered. But that's barely scratching the surface of the almost infinite number of soldierly possibilities.
Renegade Squadron is shaping up to be one of the most chaotically satisfying shooters you'll ever play on the PSP. By the time you get your paws on it, with everyoneonline and experimenting with the plethora of weapons and items in the credit system, the sheer variety of combat could be nothing short of stupefying.
