DICE dev says Star Wars Battlefront trailer is 'how it looks right now' on PS4

You may be a bit skeptical about Star Wars Battlefront looking half as good as its impressive debut trailer when it releases in November. Everything about it is just so pretty, from the lush green leaves to the polished contours of Darth Vader's helmet (check out the Star Wars Battlefront trailer and all the info). But according to assistant producer Jesper Nielsen, that's how it looks right now and not just on superpowered production computers.

"I don't like making hard guarantees," Nielsen said in a Reddit thread about the trailer, posting as DICE_TheBikingViking. "The game hasn't shipped yet. We're not done with it. But this is how it looks right now - on PS4 as well, yes."

When the trailer debuted at Star Wars Celebration last week, DICE executive producer Patrick Bach noted that the trailer had a few extra cinematic tweaks on top of the stuff you'll find in-game - so Nielsen may be speaking somewhat broadly.

"Of course there's some cinematic things we're doing that is hard to play, but we want to prove that we can make our own trailers in the engine that we're also making [the] game for," Bach said at the time. "So we're not trying to trick anyone."

No matter how Battlefront looks, don't expect it to play just like Battlefield with speeder bikes. Nielsen said in another comment thread that Battlefront is by no means a Star-Wars-skinned version of Battlefield 4; while both games are built on EA's proprietary Frostbite engine, Battlefront doesn't use "a lot of the Battlefield code".
