Have a first look at Star Wars Battlefront's Fighter Squadron mode
Ground combat is for suckers - everybody knows it's all about the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter. EA and DICE have offered up the first teaser of Star Wars Battlefront's Fighter Squadron mode, with a brief trailer showing X-wings, A-wings, TIE fighters, and TIE interceptors locked in intense aerial battles over the volcanic surface of Sullust.
It is just a teaser, so we don't know anything beyond what you can see in the 12 seconds of footage below. Not to besmirch the team deathmatch Blasts and co-op survival Missions, but a mode focused on high-speed dogfights, all glorious barrel rolls and energy allotment (with no surface-to-air missile launching ground troops to worry about) sounds like just the sort of grand Star Wars wish fulfillment I want from Battlefront.
However Fighter Squadron mode works, it looks like we'll be much better acquainted with the Rebel and Imperial fleets come August 5.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
This new indie D&D campaign setting brings Studio Ghibli and Zelda: Breath of the Wild aesthetics and worldbuilding to the tabletop RPG, and I'm already scheming hard as a DM
I've seen enough: Assassin's Creed Shadows will beat Black Flag as my favorite AC game as Ubisoft says it lets you "Naruto run" as the "fastest Assassin" it's ever made
