Here's what Star Wars Battlefront learned from the beta

Remember the scene in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back where a couple stormtroopers spawn in behind the Rebels on Hoth and shoot them all in the ass? Despite EA and DICE's dedication to old-school authenticity, it looks like they're cutting that part out of Star Wars Battlefront.

Community manager Mat Everett wrote on the game's official forums that "spawns have been adjusted" since the Battlefront beta, which means Rebels and Imperials should no longer pop into existence "on top of each other or behind each other." Now you'll just have to use your rocket pack and regenerating health bar to charge behind enemy lines, like nature intended. Hoth Walker Assault will also have other tweaks will also have other tweaks to give the Rebels a better chance at rewriting history.

If you like to play in third person, you should find that your crosshairs will give you a better idea of where you're actually shooting (e.g. into the wall you're hiding behind) in the final game. The same goes for the crosshairs when you're trundling around in an AT-ST or AT-AT.

Several weapons and Star Cards have also been readjusted for balance using info from the beta. Hopefully that means the Cycler Rifle won't be quite so essential in the full release, even if it is fun to snipe pilots in mid-air.

Everett said "a lot of bugs" previously kept the group matchmaking system from working as intended in the beta, leaving parties split across lobbies even as their hosts joined games. Those bugs have been addressed, meaning it should be much easier to play with friends when Star Wars Battlefront is released on November 17 in North America and November 19 in Europe.
