Every Star Wars: The Last Jedi set photo we could find

It's now been so long since The Force Awakens was released that Star Wars fans everywhere are going into a state of catatonic shock from the lack of Force news. Disney and Lucasfilm's fairly successful attempts to keep details about Star Wars: The Last Jedi under wraps has meant that there's surprisingly little to keep us going until its release in December 2017. They can't keep everything from us though. Thanks to some sneaky fan snaps, royal visits, and a director who likes to commemorate milestones with photographs, there are some set photos from Star Wars 8 floating around online, so we've put them all together in one feature for you to enjoy. Get clicking to see the spectacular, the tame, and the barely recognisable, with over 50 Star Wars 8 set photos.

Rian Johnson signs the Millennium Falcon

Among the many treats at this year's Star Wars Celebration Orlando was Rian Johnson presenting several on-set photos, including this confession that he scribbled his name on the Millennium Falcon. That means it's OK to ask him on the streets for an autograph. Plus, some graffiti to look out for in Star Wars 9? Well, it's one way to make a name for yourself.

A return to Skellig Islands

The Force Awakens memorably ends with Luke hiding in a distant land, somewhere out there in the galaxy, that will be recognisable to some as Ireland. Likewise, The Last Jedi spends time at Skellig Islands (specifically, Skellig Michael), as can be seen by these scenic shots. Note: it's actually a planet called Ahch-To, and Luke is not expected to have an Irish accent.

Kathleen Kennedy visits the set

In these further images of the Irish location shoot, we see Kathleen Kennedy checking that everything's going smoothly. Meanwhile, everyone around her does their best to impress the super-important producer. After all, they do want to work on Episode 9.

Here we see Rian Johnson looking pensive (we think -- it's hard to tell with the sunglasses). Around his neck is the same camera he carried around on Looper, hence the many behind-the-scenes photos. According to Johnson, he was the only person allowed to take casual photographs on set.

Rey goes hiking on Ahch-To

Daisy Ridley, as Rey, can be seen in this snap going for a walk, perhaps in character, on a quest to save Luke, Finn and the universe. Or maybe it's just Daisy looking for somewhere to get a hot drink before someone calls "action".

A storm is brewing. If only Daisy Ridley had a second-AD holding an umbrella above her in this scenario. Could it be a pathetic fallacy for a beloved character's shock death? Or just typical Ahch-To weather?

Luke Skywalker in a blue mood

Luke has had better days, we imagine, but Mark Hamill will have a bigger part in the franchise after what was only a fleeting cameo in The Force Awakens.
