Square Enix trademarks "Hitman: Profession"
Multiple hitmans being prepared for stealthy deployment
Square Enix has trademarked the title Hitman: Profession, suggesting the company may be preparing to get brandin' on another caper's worth of baldness and piano-wire. Either that, or the company's looking to actually get into the hitman profession? Let's hope it's a game, because we already know Square Enix is good at those.

The new listing was unearthed by Siliconera, which also points out that the company's been focused on building its stable of prestige franchises since an unenviable turnout during the dire first quarter of last year. While the company's focus is still on pushing this year's Hitman: Absolution, the perennial success of high-profile sneaky-killy franchises such as Assassin's Creed and Metal Gear Solid mean Square Enix's apparent emphasis on the relaunched Hitman ought to pay off.
