Zak and Richard prove there’s a very thin line between love and hate in Eternal Law (apologies for two awards for the same show, but to be honest we could have filled Spurious Awards entirely with Eternal Law this week).

Straw Poll Of The Week
Right, hands up who believes George Lucas? “The controversy over who shot first, Greedo or Han Solo, in Episode IV, what I did was try to clean up the confusion, but obviously it upset people because they wanted Solo [who seemed to be the one who shot first in the original] to be a cold-blooded killer, but he actually isn’t. It had been done in all close-ups and it was confusing about who did what to whom. I put a little wider shot in there that made it clear that Greedo is the one who shot first, but everyone wanted to think that Han shot first, because they wanted to think that he actually just gunned him down.”
Putting Two And Two Together Of The Week
Possibly more interesting than the news that ITV Studios America and HDFILMS have announced plans to reboot Space: 1999 as Space: 2099 , is that fact that Whedonista Eliza Dushku rapidly tweeted a link to the story. Now, it’s not entirely possible that Dushku is a closet Gerry Anderson fan, but please let us speculate on the fact that she may have been offered a part in the show. This is how rumours start, you know.
HDFilms president Jace Hall, who will executive produce the show, has previous form: he was one of the men behind the recent V reboot. Hmmmmmm. “While we are indeed reimagining the franchise and bringing something new and relevant to today’s audiences,” says Hall, “I feel strongly that some of the overall tones set by the original Space: 1999 television show represent an exciting platform to explore possibilities.” Question is, will they still try to fob us off with that scientific hogwash about the Moon travelling fast enough to escape our solar system while at the same time travelling slow enough that the crew of Moonbase Alpha can pop off on day trips to any planets they pass?
Contraceptive Of The Week
This was enough to put the Spurious panel off sex for life. It’s just one of a number of posters created by Next Movie , in which classic posters for biopics have been doctored to include the looning Gungan in an attempt to ruin your enjoyment of the films forever more. Not to mention sex. Shudder.
